The children of late boxing icon, Muhammad Ali who passed on today aged 74 have spoken through various platforms on the death of their dad.

With the world still mourning and eulogizing the charming sportsman, his children, Rasheda, Hana, Asaad and Laila have joined in the fray with words like ‘Hero’, ‘Best friend’, ‘Humble Mountain’, ‘King’, ‘The Greatest Man that ever lived’ being few of the many adulation showered on Ali

‘Forever grateful for everything you have ever gave me…You’ve shown me how to love the world in ways I didn’t know possible. You’ve shown me how to be brave and courageous in situations beyond my belief! You’ve taught me so much the last 25 years things that will forever be imprinted in my soul,’ Asaad, the only child borne Ali by his fourth wife, Lonnie Williamswrote on Instagram.

‘The Greatest Man that ever lived. Daddy my best friend & my Hero You R no longer suffering & now in a better place,’ Rasheda’s tweet read.

Hana on her part recalled the former heavyweight champion’s last moments on his deathbed, saluting his courage as he breathed his last.

‘Our hearts are literally hurting,’ she wrote. ‘But we are so happy Daddy is free now. We all tried to stay strong and whispered in his ear, ‘You can go now. We will be okay…you can go back to God now.’ All of us were around him, hugging and kissing him and holding his hands, chanting the Islamic prayer.’

‘All of his organs failed but his HEART wouldn’t stop beating,’ she added. ‘For 30 minutes…no one had ever seen anything like it. A true testament to the strength of his Spirit and Will!’

Laila Ali, an undefeated retired boxing champion also shared on Facebook, ‘I love this photo of my father and my daughter Sydney when she was a baby! Thanks for all the love and well wishes. I feel your love and appreciate it!!’

Nollywood actress, Moji Olaiya plans big for movie premiere

Popular Yoruba actress and daughter of legendary highlife musician, Victor Olaiya, Moji Olaiya has announced that her new movie, Iya Okomi (My Mother-In-Law), will be premiered on July 31, 2016.

Billed to hold at the Classique Event Place, Oregun, Lagos, the actress we gathered has perfected every necessary arrangement to make it grand.

The event will be anchored by Lepacious Bose and Babatunde Bernard aka Baba Tee and her musician dad is expected to perform.

The Nigerian Police releases list of successfully screened Lagos Indigenes for employment

The Nigerian Police Force has released a list of successfully screened indigenes of Lagos State that applied for recruitment into the Police Force. According to a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr. Tunji Bello on Friday, all indigenes-candidates who applied for employment should go to the 13 Zonal Police Area Commands across the State from Saturday 4th of June, 2016 to pick their letters.
The statement adds that all categories of candidates from Cadets, Recruits, Constables and Specialists that are affected should proceed to the Police College, Ikeja from Monday 6th of June, 2016 for the interview session, which will commence as from 9.00am. The shortlisted candidates who have already been notified through SMS messages and email are requested to come forward on the dates indicated on their letters of invitation for screening and interview along with the following documents:
· Duly completed guarantors forms,
. Certificate of state of origin,
· Educational certificates,
· Birth certificates or sworn declaration of age
· Two recent passport photographs with their names written in capital letters at the back of the passport photographs.

Woman arrested for putting nail polish remover in 17 month old stepdaughter's milk

A 36 year old woman in Carol Stream, Illinois,  Andrea Vazquez-Hernandez, was accused of putting nail polish remover into her 17-month-old stepdaughter's baby bottle and has been charged with one count of aggravated battery and one count of domestic battery, according to the DuPage County State's Attorney in Illinois.

Police say they were called to the Vazquez-Hernandez's home by the infant's father on May 29th about a child who may have ingested nail polish remover. Investigators who spoke with the victim's father, reportedly said that he had tried to feed his daughter milk in a bottle but that she immediately spat it out.
He said the child started acting funny so he immediately took his daughter to the hospital where several tests were performed on here but all tests performed there came back normal.
Investigators say that at some point earlier in the day the Vazquez-Hernandez allegedly added approximately one-inch of nail polish remover to her stepdaughter's baby bottle.

Married Christian Rock singer announces he’s Gay, stuns fellow Christians

Founding member of Christian rock group 'Everyday Sunday', 35 year old Trey Pearson, who is married with two children has come out as being gay. In a recent letter to his fans he revealed that not everything is as it seems. The Christian Rocker stunned fans across the world earlier this week, admitting he’s been attracted to men since he was a teen.


He wrote in a letter posted on the Religious News Service’s website on May 31st, that he was always taught that sexuality was a matter of “choice” and that he “never wanted to be gay”. “To make an extremely long story short, I have come to be able to admit to myself, and to my family, that I am gay.”

The letter reads:

“I was scared of what God would think and what all of these people I loved would think about me; so it never was an option for me. I have been suppressing these attractions and feelings since adolescence. I’ve tried my whole life to be straight. I married a girl, and I even have two beautiful little kids. 

My daughter, Liv, is six and my son, Beckham, is two. I had always romanticized the idea of falling in love with a woman; and having a family had always been my dream. In many ways, that dream has come true. But I have also come to realize a lot of time has passed in my life pushing away, blocking out and not dealing with real feelings going on inside of me. 

I have tried not to be gay for more than 20 years of my life. I found so much comfort as a teen in 1 Samuel 18-20 and the intimacy of Jonathan and David. I thought and hoped that such male intimacy could fulfill that void I felt in my desire for male companionship. I always thought if I could find these intimate friendships, then that would be enough.”

In a Facebook post, he wrote this about his wife: Happy Birthday to the love of my life. You make me a better man and I love living life with you. What an adventure. 😊

Divulging intimate secrets from his wedding night, Pearson confesses he had never “made out” with a girl before that night after his nuptials nearly 8 years ago. As he tried to be heterosexual, he says he only desired for intimacy in friendship that much more.
Pearson said he had “mixed feelings” about the changes that have occurred in his life as a result, but is more contrite about his upbringing.

He added:

"I was taught to handle this growing up, how much it has hurt me and the unintentional pain I have brought Lauren, I wouldn’t have the friendship I now have with her, and we wouldn’t have our two amazing, beautiful children. But if I keep trying to push this down it will end up hurting her even more. 

I am never going to be able to change how I am, and no matter how healthy our relationship becomes, it’s never going to change what I know deep down: that I am gay. Lauren has been the most supportive, understanding, loving and gracious person I could ever ask for, as I have come to face this. And now I am trying to figure out how to co-parent while being her friend, and how to raise our children.”

Since coming out to his fans, there seems to be an outpouring of support from both fans and the LGBT community.
Others showered Pearson with Bible verses, encouraging him that God still loves him, no matter what, and explained it is not our place to judge others.

While some called him a “hypocrite” and a “liar” for starting a family on “false” pretenses, other Christians pointed out the need to show love but not support of Pearson’s actions.
Chris Henderson said:

“The only thing that is terrible about this is he is married with 2 kids…Now he comes out…Thats just wrong.. and extremely hurtful to the wife and child.”

Another Christian Bill Cosner said:

“But what are you planning to do about it? You know what God would have you do. But will you follow Him, or will you follow your flesh?” 

Peggy Geyer Walker Jehn said:

"You did a great job! So loving when talking about your family and church family. You spoke with such truth, grace and sincerity. Love yourself and be proud of who you are, all of who you are. Your story is helping others and changing lives!!! But don't let that put unwanted pressure on you. Just be your true authentic self and you will be just fine.
